Syma X5UW, Elegant Design with auto Takeoff and Landing

Syma, the brand know for manufacturing highly stable, reliable, durable and fun to fly helicopters and quadcopters, is all set to release its first new model of 2016 Called Syma X5UW. New Model of 2016? Yes you got it right, though the previous models like X8HC, X5HC, X5HW, X8HG, X8HW are released in 2016 and currently available for sale in retail market, in my view those are actually an upgrades to the 2015 catalogue.

 If you have a profound look at the specifications and features of all the drones released till date (X8HC, X5HC, X5HW, X8HG, X8HW)  have got an altitude hold feature added with  new refreshing colors, but not much change in the design.

Syma x5uw is a 720P WIFI FPV Quadcopter with altitude hold function along with headless mode , one key automatic return, auto take off and landing.

Syma X5UW, An elegant Design

Admitting the fact that, Syma X5UW was first revealed in CES 2016, this is one of my much awaited mini quadcopters in 2016, besides Hubsan H501S and H502 GPS Series. 

Getting into the design details, the top body of X5UW reminds me of Cheerson CX-32S quadcopter, but its completely unique in overall design.it has got glossy finish all over with chrome lining. Unlike Other syma Quadcopter, X5UW has got the power button at the top.

Battery

Proprietary battery design, as seen in Hubsan H107C+ quadcopter, X5UW battery is a part of the quadcopter body design. Ease of use, just a plug an play concept, eliminating a need to connect wires to get the quadcopter powered on.

Landing Skids

Landing Skids has got a complete make over, the four flattened V Shape skids tend to provide more stable landing , as the drone featuring auto take-off and auto landing

2MP Camera

Syma X5UW Quadcopter is featuring 2MP Camera which can record videos at 720P resolution, As this model comes with WIFI FPV, the Live feed of the camera can be viewed on the Smart Phone through the APP, the WIFI video feed distance is 40 meters.

Transmitter

Again a unique design, different from the standard Syma Transmitter. X5UW transmitter comes is plain white and red combination. the initial pictures reveal that the transmitter has not trim or shoulder buttons, it just has a throttle and aileron sticks with a power button in center and syma Branding at the top, stay tuned for more updates on this piece.

As Evident from the specifications, Syma X5UW is powered by 3.7v 500mah battery which gives a flight time of around 7-8 minutes approximately. In my view Syma would have considered to upgrade to battery to 750 mAh for longer flight times, i recommend having a spare battery, if you really love to enjoy this beauty flying multiple times! . 

The Features altitude Hold, oney key return, auto take off and auto landing along with the headless mode (also called IOC -Intelligent Orientation Control) definitely make Syma X5UW a beginner friendly quadcopter.

MJX X102H With Inverted Propeller Design

MJX X102H is launched. MJX,MEIJIAXIN TOYS CO LIMITED, another chinese drone manufacturer who entered the drone space couple of years back, probably in 2014, released an upgraded version of MJX X101, called MJX X102H. MJX X101 is a big drone with  advanced flight modes and it was called the Syma X8C Killer. 

Personally, i flew X101, its a big sportive nice quadcopter which can carry a gopro kind of camera. If you are looking for some alternatives to Syma X8 Series, MJX X101 and X102H are worth considering. in-fact the advance modes will enhance your flying skills.

Transmitter

The transmitter comes in plain white with black control sticks and operated by 4 X 1.5 AA batteries.  One key automatic take off /landing and unlocking button on the left shoulder of the transmitter is differentiated with a red colour, while all the trim and function buttons are silver. the below diagram illustrates the functions of the 2.4 Ghz remote controller.

Cheerson, the well known drone manufacturer, launched several nano quadcopters in the year 2016, few of them are equipped with the camera along with altitude hold and WIFI FPV features.This post brings you the detailed overview of nano quadcopter from cheerson and differences between the variants and its features.

Cheerson CX-10C, the Smallest Camera Quadcopter

CX-10A and the initial CX-10

Having seen SY X25 and Syma X9 dual mode Flying quadcopters, Its time for JJRC to revive the concept of  quadcars, with the launch of new JJRC H23. Before we actually learn more about the new JJRC H23 Quadcopter , its features and specifications,  i recommend to check out my detailed review of SY X25 and Syma X9 Here.

JJRC H23 First Impressions

JJRC H23 quadcopter has a completely refreshing look when compared to the Syma X9 and SY X25. The body seems to got a different design, looks sharp and sportive. H23 will be available in blue and black colour combination - The JJRC trademark colors.

As per the specs, Product just weighs 114 grams, too light - but in my view the powerful motors (as experienced with the SY X25) would allow to fly in the windy conditions. The foam kind of wheels would ware out when driven on the rough surfaces, probably JJRC would have considered to enhance the wheels (X9S did it), keeping in mind that these conceptual two in one flyers would be most liked by the kids.

Radio controller

H23 comes with the standard JJRC 2.4 GHZ transmitter, as seen in most of the Syma transmitters there no digital LCD which indicates the battery status, trim levels. So its only through the beeps that you have to understand and assume the transmitter functions .for your quick reference, the below picture describes the options of the transmitter (video/camera, point to note.

Flight Time and Battery

As per the initial specifications JJRC H23 Comes with 3.7 volts 750mah Lithium Polymer battery and the flight time is 6- 7 minutes approximately. The full recharge cycle takes about 60 minutes, i recommend having a spare battery if you would like to have more fun flying experience with H23.

Will there be a Camera Variant?

If you have a closer look at the underside of the H23 Quadcopter, there is a SD card slot  provisioned and the font design also reveals that there is an option for camera. In-addition, the transmitter buttons also describe a video/camera feature, which means there will be camera variant available? time will reveal this.

Worth to mention, the Sy X25 has both Camera and non camera versions while the Syma x9 Series does not come with any kind of camera.

RC Leading RC111 RC 111F WiFi With Auto Take-off and Landing

RC Leading RC 111 quadcopter is a new entry to the mini quadcopter arena. To be more precise on the naming convention, RC Leading is the brand/company name producing this model. A closer look at RC 111 reveals that  the design is almost a clone of the most popular Hubsan H107C+ quadcopter ,check out my detailed review on H107C+ here.

This Drones comes available in two variants RC 111 with 2 mega pixels camera and RC111F comes with 720 HD camera with 5.8GHZ WIFI FPV for real time video feed. As seems on the most drones today, RC 111 is featuring headless mode, oney key automatic return to home, one-Key auto take-off and landing positioning itself as an entry level quadcopter

The battery seems to be proprietary, meaning- the battery is an integral part of the design. though the battery is detachable, it can only be charged when inserted into the quadcopter through the usb cable
The battery is rated as 3.7V 520mAh, and expected to give a flight time of around 6-10 minutes and the charging time of a full charge cycle is 90 minutes.

Though the design seems to be derived from Hubsan H107C+, the transmitter and the features are all different and unique including the colors. both RC 111 and RC 111F comes in four different colours (Black Yellow, Blue Rose)

First Look of Syma X8HC Quadcopter

In  Early 2016 at CES Las Vegas, Syma Announced that the big Drones of 2015 Series (the X8's) will get an upgrade. Its a known fact that Syma is known to produce quality and stable quadcopters,the 2015 X8 Series quadcopters were well received by the beginner, intermediate and casual flyers. The Previous X8C is now called X8HC and X8W is called X8HW along with the  X8G with the Go pro style camera is announced as X8HG

Though nothing has changed significantly when it comes to the design and technical specifications, the altitude hold which seems to have drawn the attention of most the quadcopter enthusiasts in the year 2015, is now part of Syma 2016 Series Quadcopter. Not just the X8 series, all the 2016 series drones from Syma will have a barometer enabled Altitude hold for precise hovering.
